4th Annual Bosnian and Herzegovinian Diasporic Conference (BiHDC) in Seattle,

Dear Community Members and Allies,

We are reaching out to you to invite you to the fourth annual Bosnian and Herzegovinian Diasporic Conference (BiHDC) in Seattle, Washington. This year BiHDC will be a two-day event full of interactive workshops and opportunities to network, April 20-22, 2018.

Gathering Bosnian and Herzegovinian Diaspora from across Canada and the US (and beyond), BiHDC builds solidarity based on multiculturalism and the diversity of our identities through critical dialogue and innovation. This conference strives to create a space where Bosnian and Herzegovinian Diaspora can gather and develop an interdependent and flourishing community – because we are stronger together.

Our theme this year, Adapting and Innovating, emphasizes and celebrates the resilience, creativity and resourcefulness of our community, as well as, presenting our attendees with opportunities to learn and create with their fellow attendees in the future.

PROPOSAL SUBMISSIONS
We are in search of stories and lessons from the triumphs, failures and challenges of adapting in the Diaspora and innovating in North America. We want to hear about your ventures, projects and initiatives that have succeeded, failed, and taught you and others how to survive and thrive. We encourage lessons and submissions from any sector or industry. All submissions for Adapting and Innovating need to be engaging and facilitate dialogue about Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Diaspora population in North America – and abroad.

Proposals should encompass BiHDC’s values of collaboration, diversity and inclusiveness. Proposals whose purpose are purely to sell a product or recruit for an organization will not be accepted. If you are unsure about how your presentation or workshop fits in with the theme, please contact us at submissions@bihdiaspora.com and the conference organizers will work with you to ensure a strong application. Proposals are due: March 1st, 2018.
